The Inauguration of
President Ronald J. Daniels

Gilman Hall atrium area

The Sept. 13 ceremony installing Ronald J. Daniels as the 14th
president of The Johns Hopkins University was the culmination of
a weekend of inaugural events. Festivities kicked off Friday with
receptions for faculty, staff, and students at Homewood to meet Daniels, and continued Saturday with a "Presidential Fun Run" around campus and the President's Day of Service, which drew more than 1,000 students, faculty, and staff in volunteer service throughout Baltimore City. Later in the day, Daniels attended the annual block party in Charles Village co-sponsored by the university and several area businesses. The inauguration itself featured remarks from University of Pennsylvania President Amy Gutmann, Supreme Court of Canada Justice Rosalie Silberman Abella, and others.
