The book club's faculty hosts this semester are from Arts and Sciences. In February, history professor Michael Johnson hosted a discussion of Tried by War: Abraham Lincoln as Commander in Chief, by James M. McPherson '64. The April selection, Richard Thompson Ford's The Race Card: How Bluffing About Bias Makes Race Relations Worse, features a presentation and discussion hosted by Matthew Crenson '63, professor emeritus of political science.

Frances Ferguson, the Mary Elizabeth Garrett Professor in Arts and Sciences and a professor of English, will host the book club in June, when it will be discussing Joyce Carol Oates' Wild Nights! Stories About the Last Days of Poe, Dickinson, Twain, James, and Hemingway.
