Welcoming the Year of the Boar

This year’s celebration of the Chinese New Year outgrew Homewood campus’ Shriver Hall, attracting some 2,000 students and scholars from 20 universities and institutes from around the region to Baltimore’s Meyerhoff Symphony Hall on February 3. The evening’s program featured a mix of modern music and dance, including a performance by Hopkins graduate student Xiaojia Zeng (pictured here), and the fast-paced Face Changing in Sichuan Opera—in which actors change more than 10 masks in 20 seconds. The event was hosted by the Chinese Student and Scholar Associations at the university and the Hopkins Medical Institutions, and co-hosted by the participating universities and many local businesses and banks
