JAMI wins Math Society of Japan's award

JHU President Richard addresses participants at the Inaugural JAMI Conference in May 1988.

The Japan-U.S. Mathematics Institute (JAMI) was founded  by the Johns Hopkins Mathematics Department  in 1988, with the cooperation of the JHU President's Office and members of the mathematical community of Japan.
JAMI exists to further cooperation in mathematical research through broadly
based programs in Mathematics. 

The current Director of JAMI is Vyacheslav Shokurov.
